after this day?

Mommy was trying to explain "tomorrow" to Peanut after a slight misunderstanding that caused her to be pretty upset that she still had to wait another day....

Peanut: "Are we going to gymnastics this day?"

Mommy: "Not today, it's in 2 days"

Peanut: "After this day?"

Mommy: "No the day after that. Not tomorrow but the next day"

The following day...

Peanut: "We're going to gymnastics today!"

Mommy: "Not today sweety, tomorrow"

Peanut: "But you said tomorrow!"

Mommy: "No, I said the day after tomorrow"

Peanut: "I thought you said this day (having a little melt down)"

Mommy: "I said the day after tomorrow, which is tomorrow. Yesterday it was 2 days, today it's 1 day. You just have to be patient, it'll come before you know it."

Peanut: "Awwwww, but waiting is boring!"

The following morning....

Peanut: "Mommy, is it tomorrow now?"

Mommy: "Well, it's today"

Peanut: "Aww, I thought you said it would be tomorrow and we can go to gymnastics!"
