leaky horse

Daddy was getting Peanut ready for bed when she asked him to pretend to be a horse and bring her to her bed. Daddy made it fun and was bumping around so that she had to try to hold on, which she was laughing hysterically at when she ripped a toot.

Daddy: "Oops!"

Peanut: "I don't have to poop. Really I don't. That wasn't me daddy, it was the horse"

hearty eats

Grandma had made a delicious slow cooker meal for us to eat before Peanut's soccer practice...

Peanut: "It's good"

Daddy: "Yes it is. Is it hearty?"

Peanut: thinks about it a second..."No, it's soft"

sign language

As we were walking back to the parking lot after Peanut's soccer game...

Peanut: waving to one of her teammates..."Bye!"

Teammate: waves back, doesn't say anything.

Peanut: "well, I guess she speaks sign language"

noticing differences

Peanut's new day care has a special little boy who has downs syndrome. At the park the day before he took a little spill out of the swing and got his foot stuck in the process (he's fine though)....

Peanut: "I noticed that his eyes look a little different"

Day care: "Yes, they are. There's a lot of people with different eyes. Like chinese people's eyes look different too. He has what's called downs syndrome, that's why his eyes look a little bit different"

Day care's daughter: "and he's just a little bit slower"

Peanut: "Ooooooh, so that's why he fell outta the swing yesterday! Because he couldn't see properly"

Our day care provider thought this was really sweet.

mommy's birthday

today is mommy's birthday.

Peanut: "How old are you going to be today mommy?"

Mommy: "29"

Peanut: "Oh my goodness! That's A LOT of counting!"

Mommy: "Oh really? It's not that bad"

Peanut: "You'd have to count all night and all day to get to 29!"

Mommy and daddy were painting the dining room while Peanut was asleep, when she woke up the next morning and came downstairs and saw the freshly painted room....

Peanut: "Wow, I really love the paint. It's really great, I love it"

Daddy: "Really?"

Peanut: "Well, I just want to make you feel good"

Daddy: "Well, you don't have to say you like it just to make me feel good"

Peanut: "But, I don't want to hurt your feelings"

modest artist

Peanut had drawn a beautiful picture of mommy and daddy on their marrying day laying on the grass by a puddle with some flowers and the sun in the sky...

Mommy: "Great job kiddo, it's beautiful! You're an artist, I love it, thank you!"

Peanut: "Don't thank me, thank my pencil and my hands"

missing you

Mommy had to start back at work, maternity leave had come to an end. After picking up the kids from day care on the first day....

Mommy: "I missed you guys today!"

Peanut: "Well, I didn't miss you"

Mommy: "What?! You didn't miss me?"

Peanut: "No, I was so busy playing that I didn't even think about you, cause I was having so much fun!"

time flies

Mommy was slow getting breakfast ready in the morning because she was trying to get the laundry sorted first...

Peanut: "Mommy, can you make us breakfast already?! It's going to be dinner time soon!"

sham what?

Peanut: "mommy, you're just like Sham Wow!"

genius

Peanut was talking in a silly voice, like a british manly voice....

Peanut: "know why I'm talking like this?"

Mommy: "No clue, why?"

Peanut: "Because I want to sound like a genuis and this is a genius voice"

Mommy: "What is a genius?"

Peanut: "I dunno, like someone who talks funny and makes a funny face when they talk to that other people think that they're like a genius when they say things."

After watching the Canada Day fireworks...

Mommy was putting Peanut's baby brother to sleep after the fireworks. Peanut came out of her room (she was supposed to be in bed too) and from the door to the room she whispered to mommy...

Peanut: "Mommy, I think those were the coolest fireworks ever, and I think that was so cool, and I loved it cause it was cool, so cool. I think my baby brother thinks they were cool too, they were the coolest ever. I loved it."

color blahs

Mommy put Peanut in a white tank top with a pretty little off white flower on the side, very cute, however Peanut was not a fan....

Peanut: "It doesn't have a rainbow of colors on it so I look weird in it."

Mommy: "You don't look weird, you look good in white"

Peanut: "Well, I don't like white. It's not my favorite color. I like my white teeth, but I don't like this white shirt."

Mommy: "Ok, well you can change shirts if you want to then"

Peanut: "Well, I'll wear it for you, cause you like it, but I don't think it's my favorite one"
