Peanut got a movie of "Clifford the big red dog" and has watched it 4 times already, and we're sure many many more to come. As a result, the following conversations have taken place:
Peanut: "I wish I could be Emily Elizabeth (the little girl who owns clifford)"
Mommy: "But then you wouldn't be Peanut, Emily Elizabeth doesn't have me as her mommy and daddy as her daddy or a baby brother or live in this house or have all your toys."
Peanut: "That's ok."
Mommy: "Well, I'd miss you, so I'm happy that you're Peanut and not Emily Elizabeth"
Peanut: (in a come-on-already-mommy-tone) "Mommy, it's just for pretend that I want to be Emily Elizabeth!"
The next day...
First thing in the morning Peanut woke up telling me that she was going to pretend to be Emily Elizabeth, and she went to her window, opened her curtains and said "Good morning Clifford! I'll be right down boy!" just like in the movie. Mommy was taking her to day care this morning because mommy had a dr. appointment to go to. The morning went on like this:
Peanut: "Mommy, can I let Clifford inside cause it's raining?"
Mommy: "I thought he was a big dog, he doesn't fit in the house"
Peanut: "No, he can come inside."
Mommy: "Ok, I guess so then"
Peanut: "You can't see him cause he's invisible"
Mommy: "Ok. Eat your breakfast cause we have to go soon"
Peanut: (Puts pretend breakfast on the floor for Clifford. Then finishes up her own breakfast)
Mommy: "Ok, all done? It's time to go so put your shoes on"
Peanut: "First I have to find Clifford. (walks around the house yelling) Clifford, Clifford, where are you? Clifford! It's hard to find him cause he's invisible!"
We get out to the car...
Peanut: "Mommy, can you put Clifford in the back?"
Mommy: "ok sweety"
Peanut: (as we start driving off) "Did you buckle him in mommy?"
Mommy: "Yup, he's all buckled up"
We get to day care and pull into the driveway. Mommy unbuckles Peanut's seat...
Peanut: "Can you please let Clifford out"
Mommy: (Playing along, pretends to let Clifford out) "Come on out Clifford, we're here. He jumped over the seat, he's out now"
Peanut: "No mommy, he's really big, you have to open the back (we have a hatchback trunk)"
